Soccer shirts are the goal
BorisVM Soccer shirts are the goal Feb 12 2004 By The Huddersfield Daily Examiner FOOTBALL fans in Huddersfield are urged to dig out unwanted soccer shirts to help a good cause. By giving the shirts they will be supporting a scheme to help disabled and disadvantaged adults and children in the former Yugoslavia. The Yorkshire Building Society aims to send as many shirts as possible to Macedonia, as part of its Send Shirts to Skopje campaign. And it is trying to find which town can produce Britain's most generous football fans. The shirts will be distributed in Macedonia by Blue Sky, a network of young volunteers. They will also be given to poorer villages, all ethnic communities and various charitable and volunteer organisations. Tanya Mills, of the building society, said: "Macedonia has many different ethnic groups and deep economic and social problems. But football is one of the things that binds people together." Give your shirt to branches in Huddersfield, Slaithwaite, Honley or Holmfirth or send it to Send Shirts to Skopje, c/o Catapult PR, 19a-20a Marsh Mill Village, Thornton Cleveleys FY5 4JZ.
