Learning Macedonian Language
Learning Macedonian Language
n/a Hello, i am new here and have a question about the Macedonian language. I am an aussie who would love to learn to speak Macedonian as i am marrying a beautiful Macedonian woman. I know some basics but cant find any books that use "english alphebet" instead of the crylic lettering. Can anyone help?

Sorry to write this in English.

I live in Victoria and hadn't thought of TAFE courses before! I can't believe the lack of information on the Macedonian language. Not even our Foreign Lanuage Bookstore with over 90 languages has any information! And when i do find something, its written in the old Cryllic letters which i was hoping not to have to learn. Thankyou for all your help so far.
mafisKumA http://www.webwombat.com.au/careers_ed/directories/tafe.htm this page contains a directory of all tafe colleges state by state
DJ_SHEMA What do you mean old cyrilic? Cyrilic alphabet is the official alphabet in Macedonia today as it has been for centuries. I think it will special for your future wife if you can try to learn the language. It is not as difficult as it seem because I know lot of westerners that have learned the Macedonian language. I have a small program that is a Macedonian dictionary that I can e-mail it to you if that will help, altough I don't think they have done a good job at translating. It seems that is done by a person that is verse with programing and not with the literatury language. You could hang out here and try to pick up the language. There has been several Macedonians that have not spoken the language before but have learned it from on line chatting and discussion forums.

Sorry, when i said old, i ment as in the cryllic lettering/alphabet itself is old [:)] My future wife is really happy that i want to learn Macedonian but she says it doesn't matter if i don't. But i want to make an effort to understand her background and their language. Plus learning a language is fun. Reading the forums to catch on is a great idea! Emailing the program would be fantastic. Thankyou (farla norgul - i hope thats right) to everyone for helping! [:)]

DJ_SHEMA For some reason I can get the dictionary to work once I unzip it. Will continute to play around with it and will e-mail you if I fix it. There is one here http://www.recnik.com.mk/eng.htm but they ask a fee for it. Let me see what I can do with my copy first.
