n/a Ecclesiastes 12:11-14: Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
n/a Book of Job 9:8: He alone stretches out the Heavens and treads on the waves of the sea.
wolf_pack Ezekiel 25:17. I liked 'cause it was used at the right moment in "Pulp Fiction".
RaGeAnGeL Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. - The Bible : 1 Corinthians -
RaGeAnGeL Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. - The Bible : 1 Corinthians 13:4 -
RaGeAnGeL Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid...for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. Bible, Deuteronomy Great men are not always wise. Bible, Job 32:9 It is more blessed to give than to receive. Bible, Acts 20:35 I tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more. But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after the killing of the body, has power to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him.
BorisVM I may be able to speak the languages of men and even of angels, but if I have no love, my speech is no more than a noisy gong or a clanging bell. I may have the gift of inspired preaching; I may have all knowledge and understand all secrets; I may have all the faith needed to move mountains - but if I have no love, I am nothing. I may give away everything I have, and even give up my body to be burnt - but if I have no love, this does me no good. Love is patient and kind; it is not jealous or conceited or proud; love is not ill-mannered or selfish or irritable; love does not keep a record of wrongs; love is not happy with evil, but is happy with the truth. Love never gives up; and its faith, hope, and patience never fail. Love is eternal. There are inspired messages, but they are temporary; there are gifts of speaking in strange tongues, but they will cease; there is knowledge, but it will pass. For our gifts of knowledge and of inspired messages are only partial; but when what is perfect comes, then what is partial will disappear. When I was a child, my speech, feelings and thinking were all those of a child; now that I am a man, I have no more use for childish ways. What we see now is like a dim image in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. What I know now is only partial; then it will be complete - as complete as God's knowledge of me. Meanwhile these three remain; faith, hope, and love; and the greatest of these is love.
n/a Proverbs 3: 5-6: Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
RaGeAnGeL Answer a fool according to his folly, or he will be wise in his own eyes. Bible, Proverbs 26:4 Forsake not an old friend; for the new is not comparable to him: a new friend is as new wine; when it is old, thou shalt drink it with pleasure. Bible, Old Testament Do not envy a sinner; you don't know what disaster awaits him. [info][add][mail] Bible, Old Testament Ask, and it shall be given you; Seek, and ye shall find; Knock, and it shall be opened unto you. Bible, New Testament, Matthew 7:7
n/a Proverbs is perhaps the most "important" book in the Bible because it focuses on wisdom. If effectively says that wisdom begins with the fear of God, indeed all knowledge begins there. Similarly, Psalms have a function of wisdom. My favorite is Psalm 139: 23-24: Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
n/a ReGeAnGel: Though the Book of Ecclesiates confronts me most deeply, I try hard to have the following verse from the Book of Michah verse 8 define my approach to life: "He has shown you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God."
n/a Da se nadovrzam na gorekazanoto so citat od Second Peter, verse 3-11: According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall: For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Christian 1 John 3:18 - My little children let us not love in word or in tongue but in deed and in truth. Matthew 5:16 - Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your father in heaven. Ima nekoj omileni hristijanski pesni?
sardaukar И јас веќе не живеам туку Христос живее во мене а тоа што живеам во тело живеам со верата во Синот Божји кој ме засака и се предаде за мене
tanevski Laws of Rape (Deuteronomy 22:28-29 NAB) If a man is caught in the act of raping a young woman who is not engaged, he must pay fifty pieces of silver to her father. Then he must marry the young woman because he violated her, and he will never be allowed to divorce her. What kind of lunatic would make a rape victim marry her attacker? Answer: God. Death to the Rape Victim (Deuteronomy 22:23-24 NAB) If within the city a man comes upon a maiden who is betrothed, and has relations with her, you shall bring them both out of the gate of the city and there stone them to death: the girl because she did not cry out for help though she was in the city, and the man because he violated his neighbors wife. It is clear that God doesn't give a damn about the rape victim. He is only concerned about the violation of another mans "property".
Enigma "Stavi me, kako pechat, na srceto tvoe, kako prsten, na rakata tvoja: zashto cvrsta, kako smrt e ljubovta; ljuta kako pekolta, revnost; strelite nejzini - streli ogneni; taa - plamen sesilen" (Pesna nad Pesnite,8:6). Enigma.
