Akcija za makedonskite deca vo Golo Brdo
Misirkov On January 12, 2005 The Macedonian Arts Council initiated the DOORS Project in the forth and final location, the village of Trebishte, in the area known as Golo Brdo, in today's Albania. Golo Brdo was annexed to Albania in 1923. Of the initial 167 Macedonian villages in 1923 there are 47 left where ethnic Macedonians live today.

The 6-member delegation of the Macedonian Arts Council traveled to this remote village to deliver laptop computers, mobile phones, and digital cameras to a group of 9- and 10-year old Macedonians.

The children will be able to connect to the Internet with mobile phones, using the mobile network of the Macedonian provider MobiMak, and use digital cameras to photograph village doors which will be part of photographic exhibits in Skopje and New York, in late 2005.

In June 2005, a chat room will allow these children to communicate with the Macedonian children in three other villages where the Macedonian Arts Council has initiated similar projects; the village of Dolna Gorica in Mala Prespa, the village of Agios Germanos in "Aegean" Macedonia and the village of Ljubojno, near Lake Prespa, in southwestern Macedonia.

Sponsors of DOORS are: Schools OnLine, Motorola, MobiMak, Video Professor Inc., and Small Pond Productions. Project cost to date is $45,000.
