Duo set silver goal first
Monday, 30 June 2003
OFK Beograd and PFC Marek Dupnitsa became the first teams to win a two-legged UEFA club competition match on the silver goal rule as the first round of the UEFA Intertoto Cup drew to a close on Sunday.
Serbo-Montenegrin challengers OFK beat JK Trans Narva 6-1 at home in the first leg, but the Estonian side were awarded a 3-0 victory as the game was interrupted for 80 minutes following a CS gas incident. With OFK winning their appeal, and the first leg being declared void, progress rested entirely on the second leg. An entertaining game ended 3-3 after 90 minutes, before Hristijan Kirovski (95) and Milosh Kolakovic (104) scored in extra time to send OFK through.
