Spring is probably the most beautiful, although a crisp winter day shows Paris in a different light Romantic and oh so chic, Paris has to be one of the most hyped and talked about cities in Europe, possibly with more landmarks than any city in the world, but whatever your expectations are, you are sure to be enchanted by this enigmatic city. Paris is divided up into 20 arrondissements (districts), each with its own individual character. The 1ère arrondissement is the tourist haven, where you will find the Louvre, Les Halles and the Palais Royal. The 7ème is where you will find the Eiffel Tower and the Musée d’Orsay. The more adventurous tourist might want to venture into the 9ème, for Pigalle, the Red Light district and the world famous Moulin Rouge. If you want to take a break from sightseeing, perhaps you should lounge in one of the numerous cafes-terrasses at the 6ème, St. Germain, which is traditionally the hangout for bohemians and intellectuals. From here, you could sip your hot chocolat, nibble your croissant and watch the Parisiennes going about their business. Paris is relatively small, approximately 9.5km by 11km, but it is crammed full of history and style. Whether you are after a romantic weekend, culture fix, or an upmarket shopping spree, Paris will not disappoint you.
