1921 - Blaze Koneski, one of the most prominent Macedonian writer,
scientist, academician, poet, was born in Nebregovo, Prilep region.
He published his first poem The Bridge in 1945. He is also an author
of the Grammar of the Macedonian language and History of the
Macedonian language in development of the Slavic literature languages
and the language of the Macedonian folk poetry. His works were
translated into several foreign languages. Among other rewards, he
was a recipient of the Golden Wreath Award at the Struga Poetry
Evenings in 1981. He died in Skopje on Dec. 7, 1993.
1942 - Nine partisans from "Gjorce Petrov" squad died in the fight
against Bulgarian fascists in Prilepec monastery, near Prilep. The
fight in Prilepec is a legend for the courage of the Macedonian
partisans in the fight for freedom.
