After the armistice the Patriarchat of Fener proclaimed the adhesion of the Orthodox Turks to Greece; this decision had been submitted to us but I refused to accept it, considering it as an act of insurrection and I declared the separation of the Orthodox Turks from the Greek Church in 1919. I participated in the revolution of Kemal Pasha and I founded a new provisionary church in Ankara and began to form the religious part of the movement. Definitive separation from Greece was proclaimed in 1922. I remain the Chief of the Orthodox Turks now as in the past. Since 1924 I am in Istanbul.
greek fellow	This is very interesting, but you should consider that not all 1.3 million orthodox people were really Turks. They are described as Turks, simply because they were Turk citizens BUT OF GREEK ORIGIN. These 1.3 million people were in vast majority descendants of the ancient Greek colonists of Minor Asia. The Turks called the Greeks "giaur" as you may know.Do no not forget that the Turks themselves called Smyrne (a city in Minor Asia coast and Izmir in Turkish language) as "giaur" Izmir (something like that anyway) and that was because of the city's large Greek population. bitushanec	If you search the internet you will find in all the documents following: - Kahramans or Caramasn since ever were Orthodox Turks. Their origin is pure Turkish, a Tatar Nation. - The Kahramans, more than a milion were accepted in Greece in 1922 when Greece counted more than 5.000.000 people as an exchange of muslims and christians between Turkey and Greece. - Most of them were settled in Macedonia. So, now these Turks pretend to be Macedonians? WHat a joke! My fellows "greeks" read about your rooths and your Turkish origin! Ceki	The point here is that they were not and are not ancient Macedonians! Like modern north greeks claim. But, if they were greeks or turks, i dont care.
