Protest to the Canadian History Television
The Canadian History Television recently created a feature for Alexander the Great which amongst other information contains a quiz with question about the life of Alexander. The first question of this quiz feature the question "What nationality was Alexander the Great?" and it appears that "Macedonian" is accepted as the correct answer although one of the other options is "Greek".

This is a very serious mistake which distorts the history of Macedonia. It is well known that the ancient Macedonians were not a separate ethnic group.
We must all protest to the Canadian History Television about this inaccurate quiz.

Protest to Lonely Planet
"Lonely Planet" is a publisher of worldwide travel guides. On their website and on the page about Greece they refer to the population of Greece as:
"98% Greek with minorities of Albanians, Turks and Slavic-Macedonians"
(Link : http://www.lonelyplanet.com/destinations/europe/greece/index.htm)
Please protest to Lonely Planet about this inaccurate statement. International treaties state that the only minority in Greece is the Muslim minority of Thrace. No other minority is recognised to exist in Greece. Therefore the people of Lonely Planet must remove this statement unless they are able to prove their argument. ajde barem 'makedonija' ja spomnale lonely planet, i citaite sto kazuvat, mnogu smesno deka samo muslimanci od Thrace8........glupavi se.
Protest to the University of Toronto
The University of Toronto offers courses in many language including the self-proclaimed "Macedonian" language spoken in FYROM. In the University's web site there is a page about this course where we read the following :
"Historically, geographic Macedonia also included areas of Bulgaria and Greece and some villages in Albania. The use of the Macedonian language is currently forbidden or restricted in some of those countries."
(Link : http://www.utoronto.ca/slavic/Macedo.htm)
We must protest to the University of Toronto about this unfair and offensive statement against Greece. |
