............................Aviation Week is an American magazine. The byline of the article about Cope
India is from a David A. Fulghum (Does this sound like a Russian name?), and
the place-line is Elmendorf Alaska, home of the Elmendorf AFB squadron that
participated in the exercise. The website I gave is Free Republic, a US
website: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1237790/posts
The other Aviation article I linked to was co-bylined by Fulghum and David
Barrie (another Russian name, perhaps?). The website I linked to appears to
be run by an Indian guy, but the Aviation Week article was reprinted in full
and without changes: http://vayu-sena.tripod.com/comparison-f15-su30-1.html
And what's this about "classic Canadian anti-Americanism?" Please. Canadians
are America's best friends in the whole world. And just like a friend is
concerned when he sees his buddy going off the path, that friend is going to
set you straight because he's your friend, because he cares.
As for my own relationship with the US, half of my family are Americans.
I've got a bunch of uncles, aunts and cousins in the Napa region of
California. I graduated from SUNY, Albany and lived in several US states
over five years.
The fact of the matter is that America is going crazy with some kind of
weird patriotism these days that doesn't allow any kind of dissent. People
are fleeing to Canada from the US because they can't take this stupid
patriotism anymore.
And you know what? That idiotic patriotism is a Hollywood creation. It has
nothing to do with real love of your country. I bet half of these
super-patriotic Americans don't even know the basic facts about important
American historical facts.
The PR hype and Hollywood hoopla that has infused ordinary Americans with
some crazy notions about what it means to be a faithful citizen is just
frightening. Hitler's propaganda chief Goebbels was a rank amateur compared
to today's Hollywood and the media conglomerates, who are simply
brainwashing the American people in order to exercise complete control over
them.
As for the Russian jets, they are excellent. They are probably better than
the best of the US, in my opinion. I tried to argue my case with facts, but
both you and Gary are talking nonsense and don't want to acknowledge facts.
I will say again that no US plane has ever flown the cobra maneuver. This
maneuver requires flying the airplane at angles of attack over 90 degrees.
That's straight up. In fact the new Sukhois with thrust vectoring can fly at
AoAs of 180 degrees. That's flying backwards.
And all the while the aircraft continues in controlled flight. The F-18 can
achieve 40 degrees AoA MAXIMUM. Then it stalls. So please don't tell me that
it has flown a cobra because it's just flat out bullfeathers.
The Russians also have some amazing radars. The new Sukhois have a radar in
the plane's tailcone too. They can also fire missiles backwards.
The Russian also have some really interesting innovations in missiles too.
If you read about these things with an open mind you would appreciate them
for their technical beauty.
But since your judgment has been completely taken over by this faux
patriotism, you cannot see the truth about the accomplishments of other
nations. That's too bad, and it's probably why the USAF got whupped in
India.

Ova pak e od forum so druga problematika:
Perhaps we are asking the wrong questions during election years.
Our Senators and Congresswomen do not pay into Social Security and, of course, they do not collect from it. You see, Social Security benefits were not suitable for persons of their rare elevation in society. They felt they should have a special plan for themselves. So, many years ago they voted in their own benefit plan.
In more recent years, no congress person has felt the need to change it. After all, it is a great plan. For all practical purposes their plan works like this: When they retire, they continue to draw the same pay until they die. Except it may increase from time to time for cost of living adjustments.
For example, former Senator Byrd and Congressman White and their wives may expect to draw $7,800,000.00 (that's Seven Million, Eight-Hundred Thousand Dollars), with their wives drawing $275,000.00 during the last years of their lives. This is calculated on an average life span for each of those two Dignitaries. Younger Dignitaries who retire at an early age, will receive much more during the rest of their lives.
Their cost for this excellent plan is $0.00. NADA....ZILCH....
This little perk they voted for themselves is free to them. You and I pick up the tab for this plan. The funds for this fine retirement plan come directly from the General Funds, "OUR TAX DOLLARS AT WORK"!
From our own Social Security Plan, which you and I pay (or have paid) into, -every payday until we retire (which amount is matched by our employer)- we can expect to get an average of $1,000 per month after retirement. Or, in other words, we would have to collect our average of $1,000 monthly benefits for 68 years and one (1) month to equal Senator Bill Bradley's benefits!
Social Security could be very good if only one small change were made.
That change would be to jerk the Golden Fleece Retirement Plan from under the Senators and Congressmen. Put them into the Social Security plan with the rest of us ... then sit back and watch how fast they would fix it.
If enough people receive this, maybe a seed of awareness will be planted and maybe good changes will evolve. How many people can YOU send this to?
We need to be heard.
